LangGraph is releasing three agent architectures that promise improvements over traditional Reasoning and Action (ReAct)-style agents. These new designs can execute multi-step workflows faster, offer cost savings by using smaller models for sub-tasks, and perform better overall by forcing the planner to explicitly "think through" all the steps required to accomplish a task. The three architectures include Plan-and-Execute, Reasoning WithOut Observations (ReWOO), and LLMCompiler, each with its own unique features and benefits for improving AI-powered products.
