The NYC bus system has an opportunity to solve the city's transit woes by improving its service, which could be relatively painless compared to repairing the subway system. A consortium of organizations analyzed bus arrival times using location data and mapped routes to offer three major solutions: redesigning bus networks for frequent and efficient service, expediting the boarding process, and allowing dispatchers to take advantage of existing technology. By implementing these practical solutions, the Bus Turnaround Coalition aims to improve the flow of traffic for 2.5 million New Yorkers taking the bus every weekday.
