eBay's Audience Platform uses Aerospike database to help retailers understand consumers' holiday shopping behavior before they even begin shopping. The platform collects data from over 100 million active users, 1.5-1.8 billion searches per month, and 2 Petabytes of behavioral data from eBay, PayPal, StubHub, and GSI Commerce. With this information, eBay can predict which consumers will be shopping for birthday gifts before they start and re-target those who leave the site without making a purchase. The platform also uses ID Mapping technology to track users across multiple devices and browsers. Aerospike helps eBay achieve sub-millisecond speed and 400K-800K TPS, as well as scalable operations and cross data center replication.
