Stream with confidence: introducing live stream health stats

Streamers can determine the health of their live stream connection using various methods such as inspecting network health or visually checking the stream playback. However, these methods may not accurately pinpoint the source of the problem. Mux has introduced a new ingest health API feature that provides feedback on encoder connections and media received during the course of the connection. The API measures stream drift, which is the difference between the duration of an encoder connection and the duration of media received. By calculating moving averages and deviations from rolling averages, the API can provide a single indicator estimate of current ingest health. This feature helps streamers identify issues with their live streams and improve overall streaming quality.
