Apache Cassandra 4.1: Building the Database Your Kids Will Use
Apache Cassandra® 4.1 is set to release in July, marking a significant milestone for the 10-year-old database project. The focus of this release is on enabling feature plug-ins, allowing important new features to be added without changing the core code. One of the key new features in Cassandra 4.1 is full ACID transactions, which will enable users to perform multiple operations as a single unit of work with atomicity, consistency, isolation, and durability guarantees. Additionally, the move towards being more cloud-native includes the ability to add plugins and shape the deployment of Cassandra clusters, making it well-positioned for serverless databases in Kubernetes environments. The Cassandra World Party will be held on July 20th to celebrate this release with the user community.
