Monitor your Arm VMs with Datadog
Acorn RISC Machine (Arm) processors were first introduced in 1985 to support low-power and low-cost computing. AWS has added various Arm-based EC2 instance types, including those based on the proprietary Graviton2 processor. Datadog has released an Agent compatible with Arm v8 architectures, allowing comprehensive visibility into infrastructure. As Arm enters the cloud computing space, it's crucial to monitor both Arm and Intel-based hosts simultaneously using tools like host map, container map, Live Container view, and Live Process view. Amazon's Arm-based instance types are designed for horizontally scalable workloads, and Datadog's distributed tracing, APM, Service Map, and App Analytics provide insights into request rates, error rates, latencies, bottlenecks, and performance impact across services. The Datadog Agent for Arm is now generally available to enhance visibility into cloud-based compute workloads.
