Coder Engineering Offsite

Coder, a distributed engineering team across Australia, Brazil, Ireland, and the United States, recently held its first department offsite in Austin. The three-day event included work sessions, team building activities, and fun outings such as go kart racing, glassmaking, and street art tours. Despite being fully remote since the start of the pandemic, Coder has decided to remain so permanently. The offsite was a success, with over 80% of the company attending at least one activity. However, the company is already considering ways to improve future events, such as better incorporating remote attendees and examining the balance between variety and focus in activities.
