Google cloud is now over Finland
Google Cloud Platform (GCP) has launched its first Nordic cloud region, europe-north1, in Finland. This marks GCP's fifth European region and offers significant performance improvements for end-users in the Nordics and Eastern Europe by reducing latencies from 65% to 88%. The new region is also less expensive than some other European regions due to lower electricity costs or other factors. Aiven, an independent ISO 27001 certified Database as a Service (DBaaS) provider, has become the first to offer production-ready PostgreSQL, Kafka, Elasticsearch and other services in GCP Finland. This expansion increases Aiven's regions to 71 worldwide, further solidifying its position as the largest DBaaS provider in terms of cloud coverage.
