I did my best work during GSD week, a company-wide experiment where no meetings were held for an entire week. The logistics involved canceling internal meetings and using asynchronous communication to gather information instead. This allowed employees to spend more time on deep work and get things done. The results showed that 80% of respondents would want to do another GSD week in the future, with significant savings from canceled meeting time. To make a successful GSD week, one should set goals, go async, future-proof their work, figure out which meetings matter, and make the most of must-have meetings.
