Google Sheets has introduced features that allow users to protect certain cell ranges and sheets from being tampered with, in order to prevent click-happy individuals like the author from accidentally making changes. This can be achieved by highlighting a cell or cell range, clicking Data > Protect sheets and ranges, and then setting permissions such as showing a warning when editing or restricting who can edit the range. Additionally, users can lock entire worksheets by selecting them in the Protected sheets & ranges panel. To edit locked cell settings, modify the range of locked cells, or change editor permissions, users can click on the protected sheet or cell range and follow the prompts. Google Sheets also offers automation features through Zapier, allowing users to connect their spreadsheet with other apps and automate tasks such as adding new lead data or form submissions.
