Most people spend at least part of their day doing repetitive tasks that a computer could do faster. Automation software does these tasks for you, but only three in five knowledge workers use automation software at work. Nearly all of those users say it benefits them. A survey found that automation helps people be more organized, complete tasks faster and improve the way they work overall. The top reasons knowledge workers set up automation software include wanting to reduce human error, experimenting with new technology, and using a number of apps that wouldn't work well together without automation. Nearly all users who have used automation at work say it has helped them get more done, save time, make them better at their job, and save money. The main reason people avoid using automation software is they don't see how it could be useful to their job right now, with other reasons including a lack of technical expertise, difficulty setting up the software, and fear of changing their role responsibilities.
