Summary

I attended two events in Philadelphia in January, PennApps Mobile Hackathon and Philly Startup Weekend. At PennApps, I gave API demos using Twilio, helped teams with their projects, and was impressed by the quality of the event, especially the students' drive and creativity. The overall winner of the hackathon was MeepMe, an app for anonymous SMS chat, while MobLaundry won the prize for best Twilio integration. At Philly Startup Weekend, I saw great apps created, including FindMeFor_, a network for finding sharing contact information, GitHacking, which made contributing to projects easier, and LaunchRock, a platform that creates viral "launching soon" pages in minutes. The event was a success, with many signups and media coverage, and I'm looking forward to returning in April for Philly Tech Week.
