Twilio Narrowband is a developer platform designed for Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) technology, optimized for smaller data packets and lower power consumption. It aims to enable the creation of low-cost, battery-efficient internet-connected devices that don't exist today. The platform is now available exclusively for attendees of SIGNAL through a Narrowband Pilot program, featuring three components: Narrowband SIMs, Twilio Narrowband IoT Developer Kit, and Breakout SDK. T-Mobile USA is the first network to deploy NB-IoT in the US, with its nationwide network operational. This move opens up new categories of lower-cost, internet-connected devices that can operate on a fraction of the battery power of traditional cellular M2M devices.
