Twilio launched Video Log Analyzer to provide transparency to developers operating video applications at scale. The tool captures detailed information about Video Rooms and Participants, allowing developers to quickly investigate Room and Participant issues. It stores metadata for Rooms that ended in the past 2 days for Twilio Video WebRTC Go Rooms and past 7 days for all other Rooms types. The Video Log Analyzer landing page allows filtering by specific time ranges, Room types, and video codecs, as well as a search utility to locate specific Rooms. The tool also captures metadata about every Room, including the method used to create the Room, aggregated codecs detected, and Participant details. By analyzing this data, developers can identify commonalities in reported issues, correlate behavior to specific platforms or browser versions, and focus on the right problems to improve their applications. Video Log Analyzer provides a REST API for retrieving Programmable Video Room and Participant details, allowing developers to simplify troubleshooting and help identify commonalities in reported issues.
