Twilio has initiated `Tea Time for Inclusion`, a safe space forum where London-based Twilions can discuss sensitive topics such as racial injustice, diversity, and inclusion. The initiative was sparked by a desire to comfort and console during the coronavirus pandemic and regional lockdowns. Ally Mariam Taraif, senior design program manager at Twilio UK, led the effort with the goal of building relationships with marginalized individuals and groups based on trust, consistency, and accountability. Tea Time for Inclusion has been successful, attracting participants from all levels of the company and fostering a sense of community and support. The initiative aims to expand beyond racial and ethnic diversity topics and address issues like gender balance, LGBTQI+ inclusion, disability confidence, and life stage support in the future.
