The team from Neo Technology participated in the NASA Space Apps Challenge, joining forces with Hatim and forming Team Awesome to tackle a challenge called "Near Earth Objects" tracking. They proposed an approach that utilizes exif data from photos taken by modern cameras to compute object locations and directions, enabling crowdsourced verification of sightings. The project aimed to make discovering Near Earth Objects easy and fun, but only reached a crude mock-up stage due to limited research beforehand. Despite the project's untimely end, the team found it a great learning experience and enjoyed meeting interesting people, including Olle Norberg from the Swedish National Space Board and Christer Fuglesang, Sweden's only astronaut.
