Video analytics company Mux has raised $2.8 million in seed funding from investors including Y Combinator, SV Angel, Susa Ventures, Lowercase Capital, Pathbreaker, Advancit, and founders of Parse and Heroku. The company is developing a performance analytics platform for online video publishers, offering more detailed information on streaming video metrics than previously available. Mux's founders previously started Zencoder, which was acquired by Brightcove in 2012. They believe that the analytics data provided by their new platform will be crucial to improving video quality and user experience as online video becomes increasingly popular.
