Research Nodes for increased scalability and availability are now available in Google Cloud's public preview, following the announcement of their initial release on AWS in June 2023. Research Nodes provide dedicated infrastructure for workloads in Atlas Search and Vector Search to offer greater control over research workloads. They isolate and optimize computing resources to scale search and database needs independently, resulting in better performance at scale and higher availability. This helps developers focus on creating and scaling applications without worrying about infrastructure issues. Research Nodes also eliminate the need for separate ETL tools, reducing complexity and engineering time spent recovering from synchronization failures.
