Rory Bramwell is a Jamaican dual-certified MongoDB Professional working as a DevOps engineer at Pythian, a global IT services company. He has been curious about IT from a young age and discovered programming languages after accessing a PC at home in 1998. Rory's passion for programming led him to take a Computer Science course at community college, which he excelled in, and later enrolled in a software programming course at the Caribbean Institute of Technology (CIT). He graduated at the top of his class and received multiple awards for excellence. After working as a technical representative for a web hosting company, Rory branched off into various roles, including system and network administration, database administration, software design and development, graphic design, telecommunications, IT project management, and service delivery. He found DevOps to be a perfect fit, leveraging his knowledge and skill set. Rory currently works as a DevOps Engineer for Pythian, where he helps customers achieve business goals through continuous transformation and operational excellence. He discovered MongoDB while doing a Coursera specialization on Android Mobile Application Development and was intrigued by its NoSQL approach, flexibility, and speed. Rory is now MongoDB Dual-Certified and has found the certification process to be invaluable, providing personal satisfaction and opening his mind to new applications. He encourages others to pursue certification, highlighting the benefits of standing out as a qualified professional in a thriving community of MongoDB certified professionals.
