MongoDB Atlas is introducing Full-Text Search, a service that leverages Apache Lucene for text search, allowing users to leverage the power of external search engines without complex integrations. This service can be used without managing data export or configuring separate search platforms, and queries use the MongoDB Query Language. The new feature requires MongoDB 4.2 or later and an M30 or above cluster and is currently in open beta. Additionally, MongoDB Atlas is introducing Auto Scaling, a feature that reduces the effort to get database scaling right for applications by using predictive modeling and proven practices from managing tens of thousands of MongoDB deployments. This feature expands auto-scaling capabilities to handle CPU and RAM requirements and is expected to be widely available later this summer.
