The MongoDB PhD Fellowship Program is now in its second year, aiming to advance cutting-edge research in computer science by supporting emerging research leaders. The program provides financial support, mentorship, and opportunities to engage with MongoDB's researchers and engineers throughout the year-long fellowship. This year, three exceptional scholars were selected: Xingjian Bai from MIT, William Zhang from Carnegie Mellon University, and Renfei Zhou from Carnegie Mellon University. Each fellow has innovative research that tackles important problems in computer science, with potential to impact both the wider industry and MongoDB's efforts. The program is competitive, and the selection process was extremely rigorous, with a review panel impressed by the applicants' accomplishments and ambitious goals.
