Microsoft has identified unpatched security vulnerabilities in the Adobe Type Manager font library (atmfd.dll) used in Microsoft Windows, which could allow remote code execution if exploited. To mitigate this risk, Microsoft recommends disabling Preview Pane and Details pane in Windows Explorer, disabling WebClient service, or renaming atmfd.dll. However, these workarounds only limit certain attack vectors, leaving vulnerability still present when opening malicious documents. Miradore, a premium subscription-based tool, provides sample implementations of these workarounds, which can be deployed through the platform to test and implement on Windows devices before wider deployment.
