The Technology Radar approach is a framework for classifying potential use cases based on both technical maturity and strategic relevance. This approach offers a visual way to categorize initiatives, consisting of concentric rings representing different levels of recommended action: Adopt (proven value, ready to implement broadly), Trial (potential value, but requires piloting in a controlled environment), Assess (emerging or uncertain; keep tabs on progress before investing heavily), and Hold (not recommended currently). The approach is particularly useful for organizing AI initiatives into four key categories: Product features, Internal enablement, Data science & ML operations, and Business strategy & transformation. By applying the Technology Radar framework, organizations can prioritize their AI efforts, avoid chaos, and focus on initiatives that deliver consistent, measurable value to their business.
