A Meetup is scheduled at the Austin Office on September 24th, 2024. Interested attendees or speakers are encouraged to sign up. Coder has released version 1.14.0 with new features such as running system-level applications in environments, account dormancy, environment variables, UI improvements, security updates, and bug fixes. The latest release allows users to create environments capable of running system-level applications like Docker, Kubernetes, or systemd. Accounts that haven't been used for 90 days are flagged as dormant and do not count toward license seats. A deletion threshold can be set after which Coder will automatically delete dormant accounts. Environment variables have also been introduced to access contextual information about the Coder environment. Admin-level users will notice redesigned Admin pages, while other UI changes include SSH information display on the environment overview page and improved code blocks. Security enhancements include protection around API key usage within environments and fixing an upstream SSH server DoS vulnerability.
