On March 14, 2018, Cloudflare expanded its network in the United States by adding five new data centers in Houston (Texas), Indianapolis (Indiana), Montgomery (Alabama), Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania), and Sacramento (California). These locations represent states with a combined population of nearly 100 million people. The expansion increases performance, security, and reliability for Cloudflare's customers while supporting the next generation of 5G-enabled applications. With this addition, Cloudflare now has deployments in all ten most populous North American metropolitan areas.
