Cloudflare has expanded its network infrastructure by adding 17 new cities across eight countries, increasing the number of on-network cities to over 250. The company has also tripled its external network capacity and increased long-haul internal backbone network by more than 800% since the start of 2020. These improvements aim to provide faster internet connections for users worldwide, with 95% of the entire Internet-connected world now within 50 milliseconds (ms) of a Cloudflare presence and 80% within 20 ms. The company plans to continue expanding its network infrastructure to become more localized while maintaining security, privacy, and reliability for all users.
