However, they may not be optimal for sensitive or private data, precision of outputs, or when there are no spatial patterns in the data. With CARTO's new capabilities, users can create heatmaps online by adding a point layer to their map and experimenting with different color palettes and density radii. The update also enables developers to build large-scale heatmaps in their apps using CARTO + deck.gl.
