The Authentik Identity Provider has released version 2025.2, which includes several new features and improvements. The release adds a major new provider called Shared Signals Framework (SSF), which allows for asynchronous real-time security signals and events across multiple applications and an identity provider. Remote Access Control (RAC) is now available as an open source feature, allowing administrators to integrate authentik with various applications. GeoIP distance and impossible travel checks have been added to detect and prevent access from potentially stolen devices or sessions. Additionally, admins can now configure users to use their email address as an authenticator, and there are new fine-grained permissions for group-level superusers. The release also includes improvements in debugging experience and changes to be aware of, such as the deprecation of the `:latest` container image tag after 2025.2.
