History of the Twilio Coding Gloves
The Twilio coding gloves were first introduced on the stage at SIGNAL 2019, where they made their grand entrance as part of a coding challenge between Twilio's developer-CEO Jeff Lawson and other attendees. The original design was inspired by cycling gloves due to a tight deadline, but later evolved into compression gloves with features such as wrist support, breathable material, and fingerless design. After 20 months of development, the team overcame supply chain challenges caused by COVID-19 to produce a full run of coding gloves in seven different styles, which will be given away at this year's SIGNAL conference. The gloves are designed to provide comfort, dexterity, and tactile feedback for developers during long coding sessions.
