Wistia is a video hosting and analytics company that provides a highly customizable white label player optimized for viewer experience with support for high resolution videos and adaptive streaming using HLS. Founded in April 2006, the company uses Mux for A/B testing and validating new algorithms such as their latest improvements to their adaptive bit-rate algorithm. Wistia's customers use data from video viewings to gain insights into audience engagement and preferences. The company is currently focused on improving video quality through newer formats like h.265 or VP9, and building in more fallbacks for playback issues. Max Schnur, Principal Software Engineer at Wistia, suggests that Mux could improve its service by offering features such as an embed code to show individual customer's video performance and normalizing aggregate stats by video.
