We’re not building "AI data scientists"
Hex recently launched an update to its integrated Magic AI features, which have been well-received by users. However, some people are concerned that these advancements could lead to the automation of data analysis and potentially replace human data scientists. The author argues against this notion, stating that while AI can assist with certain tasks, it is still far from being able to replicate the complex thought processes and decision-making abilities of a human analyst. Furthermore, the demand for data work is not fixed and will likely increase as more organizations become aware of its potential benefits. The author believes that AI augmentation presents a significant opportunity for data professionals to focus on creative tasks while allowing computers to handle repetitive or tedious aspects of their jobs.
