Cloudflare Images Now Available to Everyone
Today, Cloudflare is launching its new product, Cloudflare Images, which offers efficient storage, resizing, optimization and delivery of images for customers of all sizes. The service eliminates the need to create multiple versions of an image in different sizes and formats, reducing infrastructure costs. It also provides built-in access control with expiring signed URL tokens, ideal for membership sites that sell premium content. Furthermore, Cloudflare Images eliminates egress costs by storing, optimizing, and delivering images through a single product. The pricing is straightforward: $5/month for every 100,000 stored images and $1 per 100,000 delivered images, with no additional resizing, compute or egress costs. Images can be uploaded using the Cloudflare Images Dashboard, Direct Creator Uploads feature, or through APIs. The service also allows for image resizing with variants and optimized image delivery based on client headers and image type. Future features include AVIF support, variants that add a blur effect to images, and analytics to better understand the use of Images.
