Per-Step GitHub Commit Statuses
On April 24, 2015, GitHub introduced a feature allowing users to view all build statuses for a pull request. This includes results from Code Climate code quality checks and Buildkite tests. To fully utilize this update, Buildkite added the capability to display separate GitHub build statuses for each build step. Users can now monitor their build steps in real-time on GitHub, see how long each one takes, and access individual build logs and artifacts directly. If a step fails, users will be shown the exit status. Additionally, multiple Buildkite projects pointing to the same GitHub repository can display their commit statuses side by side. To enable this feature, go to your Buildkite project's GitHub Settings and turn on the "Commit Status for Each Step" option.
