How we created Buildkite’s Product Design Principles

Buildkite has developed four key principles to guide their product design process: helping customers identify problems, providing a pro tool with a self-managed learning curve, allowing users to pop the hood when needed, and being trustworthy, friendly, and honest. These principles aim to facilitate collaboration among product management, engineering, and product design teams while ensuring consistency of features and improvements. By putting these principles down on paper, Buildkite aims to provide everyone at the company with a language for giving design feedback and an extension of their company's values.
