Breakpoint 2021 Speaker Spotlight: Rotem Mizrachi-Meidan, Wix

Breakpoint 2021 is a two-day virtual summit on software quality featuring speakers from the development and QA fields. Rotem Mizrachi-Meidan, a Software Engineer at Wix, will be presenting a session about using Detox, a gray box testing solution for mobile apps, in production. In his session, he will discuss how Wix manages configuration, fights flakiness, and shares best practices developed over three years of using Detox. He emphasizes the importance of writing isolated tests in a controllable environment to ensure test stability. Mizrachi-Meidan also talks about scaling development and integration processes for mobile apps by allowing teams to work independently while leveraging each other's work. The last mile strategy for getting to "0 manual QA" involves making tests run faster on faster machines or real devices, which is currently being researched. Mizrachi-Meidan is also learning about Wix's backend services built with Scala and Bazel as a build system.
