We Raised a $26M Series-A to Change How Data Is Moved
The Airbyte team recently raised a $26 million Series-A round led by Benchmark. Since their seed funding announcement, the company has experienced significant growth, becoming the most active Slack data integration community with over 1,300 users and increasing the number of users replicating data from 600 to 2,000. Airbyte aims to modernize the data stack through an open-source solution for data integration. The company was founded in January 2020 by John and I, initially focusing on marketing data but pivoting after the COVID pandemic impacted their original business plan. Since then, they have released several updates and features, including Change Data Capture (CDC) for Postgres, Connector Development Toolkit (CDK), and support for over 70 connectors. The new funding will help them scale to accommodate growth, build a hosted version of Airbyte called Airbyte Cloud, and continue developing their open-source platform.
