Leveraging a real-time document database for large-scale applications

In a recent webinar with DBTA, experts discussed the importance of leveraging real-time document databases for large-scale applications. They highlighted trends such as supporting real-time applications and insights, focus on self-service platforms, need to support all kinds of data, demand for more elastically scalable platform, increasing demand for more connected data, and leveraging the cloud for new apps and insights. Document databases provide a flexible data model that supports documents efficiently, delivering high performance on reads and writes for documents, which is especially important when dealing with large volumes of data. Aerospike's focus on scale and low latency was discussed through customer examples such as AppNexus and The Trade Desk. Zonetap also faced scalability issues with MongoDB but found a solution in Aerospike's document database capabilities, JSON Document API, and high throughput capabilities.
