Secure Your Inbound Media Files With the Vonage Messages API

Vonage's Message API enables two-way conversations across various messaging channels, including those that support sending and receiving media files like images, audio, and video. This feature is useful for situations where customers need to send or receive multimedia content, such as videos of product malfunctions or images of damage caused by transit. To receive inbound messages, a webhook needs to be set up in the Vonage Dashboard, which includes creating a Vonage application, enabling the Messages API, and setting an Inbound URL. The payload of inbound messages contains details like message type, text content, or media URLs, with media files stored on Vonage's servers for only 48 hours. Standard security measures are in place to prevent unauthorized access, but Enhanced Security with Secure Inbound Media adds an extra layer by requiring a JWT and Authorization header for accessing media files securely.
