Introducing Template Management for Verify

The Vonage API Platform has introduced a Template Management feature that allows developers to customize the message sent with a One-Time Password (OTP) rather than using the default template, providing more flexibility and localization options for SMS and Voice delivery. This feature uses a set of new API endpoints, including custom templates and fragments, which are structured according to Vonage's HAL standards. Developers can create custom templates with unique names and text contents, and split them into two logical parts: the template and template fragments, each with its own GUID and timestamps. The feature also includes static variables for use within the message text, such as ${code}, ${brand}, ${time-limit}, and ${time-limit-unit}. The Template Management feature can be used to customize OTP delivery messages for different locales, including English, French, and Vietnamese, and can be triggered through various methods, including auto-locale detection and specifying a locale. However, developers should be aware of common pitfalls, such as account enabling issues, template or fragment existence checks, and not using the ${code} variable in the text.
