Build an Air Quality Reporting Service With Messages API
The World Air Quality Index project is a non-profit initiative that aims to promote air pollution awareness and provide worldwide access to air quality information. The project offers REST APIs for accessing data from weather and air quality monitoring stations globally. A service can be built using Node.js, the Vonage Messages API, and WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger channels to send information about current air quality at a given location. The service will use utility functions to query the WAQI APIs for air quality data and reply back with relevant information to users. The project also covers the use of ngrok to expose the application over the internet, Commander.js for parsing inbound messages, and the status webhook to ensure delivery of messages.
