Twilions Come Together in Response to Asian & Pacific Islander Harassment
Twilio recognizes Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with a series of events that honor the historical achievements and cultural differences of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. The company has partnered with Hollaback! to co-host a training session entitled Bystander Intervention to Stop Anti-Asian American and Xenophobic Harassment, which aims to educate employees on how to intervene in situations where harassment is occurring. The training emphasizes the importance of prioritizing one's safety while intervening and provides strategies such as the "5 D's" for bystander intervention. Twilio has seen a positive impact from this initiative, with over 130 employees participating in the training and reporting increased confidence in their ability to intervene if they witness harassment. As part of its commitment to supporting the Asian American Pacific Islander community, Twilio is intentional about celebrating and learning from the diverse experiences and stories of AAPI individuals throughout the month.
