Geo-Location for an Australian Toll-Free Number
Twilio has introduced a new feature for Australian toll-free numbers that allows users to extract geolocation data from incoming mobile-originated calls in Twilio Programmable Voice. This information can be used to determine the approximate area the mobile user is calling from. Unlike other providers, Twilio provides all the tools and data needed to build location-based call handling directly without complex IVR design projects. The feature uses MOLI (Mobile Location Information) provided by the Communications Alliance in Australia. Users can extract the MOLI value from the incoming call using Twilio Studio and use it for various applications such as directing calls to the correct state, department or even a pizza store based on the caller's location.
