How to Use SMS Services for Customer Engagement
Text messaging, or Short Message Service (SMS), is becoming an increasingly popular communication channel for businesses. With over 95% of messages being opened by consumers, it offers a direct line to customers who spend much of their time on their phones. SMS services allow businesses to send mass texts, connect individually with customers, and enable multiparty conversations. They can be used for various purposes such as marketing, appointment reminders, customer service interactions, ETA notifications, service alerts, lead alerts, and more. Twilio's SMS APIs offer two different services: Programmable Messaging API for one-way communications like alerts, notifications, and marketing messages; and Conversations API for multiparty conversations across multiple channels including SMS, chat, and messaging apps like WhatsApp.
