My observations since joining Tecton as VP of Engineering

Tecton is a managed service targeted at enterprises, requiring strong operational setup and uptime SLOs to maintain strict latency guarantees. The team has built the software with operational requirements in mind from the start, releasing multiple times per week with minimal downtime. Every engineer at Tecton has a direct connection with a strategic customer, learning about their use cases, staging and production setup, features and users, providing a strong focus on user experience and empathy towards customers. The EPOC rotation ensures that every member of the team contributes to product discussions by directly supporting customers using their product. The engineering team at Tecton is incredibly talented, with a sense of camaraderie and desire to help each other, investing time in improving onboarding processes and demonstrating engagement and support for one another. The company values trust among its employees, allowing them to prioritize health over office attendance, while still fostering a strong work environment through various social activities.
