Supabase $30m Series A
Supabase, an open-source alternative to Firebase, has raised $30 million in a Series A funding round led by Coatue, bringing its total funding to $36 million. The company is growing rapidly with over 50,000 databases launched and more than 40,000 developers signed up from leading companies. Supabase aims to make Postgres the default database for every developer in the world by making it both easy and scalable. It offers a range of features built on top of PostgreSQL's existing functionality, such as authentication, file storage, APIs, and more. The company is also working towards building a cloud-native Postgres platform with automatic scaling, low latency, billing based on usage, and other advanced features. Supabase plans to use the funding to expand its team and continue developing its platform.
