Green Coding with Clean Code - A Recap of ecoCode Challenge Paris 2024

Climate change is a pressing issue, with record-breaking heatwaves reported across the globe in 2023. The developer community has an opportunity to contribute to environmental sustainability through green coding practices. Green Coding aims to reduce the environmental impact of code by minimizing its energy consumption and avoiding "green code smells." SonarQube, a static code analysis tool, helps developers detect these issues in an automated way. As a sponsor of the ecoCode Challenge Paris, Sonar is committed to integrating sustainability into technological innovation. The challenge brought together 120 developers who worked on reducing the carbon footprint of digital services through green coding practices.
