Netlify launches Advanced Web Security and new Web Application Firewall (WAF)

Netlify has announced its Advanced Web Security portfolio, which includes a new Web Application Firewall (WAF) capable of blocking OWASP-classified web attacks. The company is also introducing several security features that were previously available in their service. As more enterprises adopt composable architecture solutions, applications have become more complex and require greater levels of confidential data processing, compliance, and security. Netlify's Advanced Web Security encompasses various enterprise security features such as DDoS mitigation protections, a user-customizable WAF, configurable rate limiting, firewall traffic rules, and access to log drains for full visibility over user traffic. The new WAF supports a passive mode and excludes paths, allowing site developers to observe the rules triggering on-site traffic and tune them accordingly.
