DigitalOcean has made significant updates to its fully managed Platform as a Service (PaaS) solution, App Platform, to enhance the speed and flexibility of deploying applications. The platform now uses Kata Containers, an open source container runtime, which results in more secure containers with lightweight virtual machines that help provide stronger workload isolation using hardware virtualization technology. This has led to a significant reduction in build times for remote builds on App Platform.
