Celebrating Jewish American Heritage Month

Jewish American Heritage Month celebrates the contributions of Jewish Americans to US culture and history. The Jewish people have a long sense of their own identity, with roots tracing back thousands of years to the region of Israel and Palestine. Major upheavals led to the scattering of Jewish communities worldwide, known as the Jewish diaspora. Today, there are an estimated 7.6 million people who identify as Jewish living in the US, with most having Ashkenazi heritage.
