Apache Cassandra™ Community Gathering at Data Day Texas

What's this blog post about?

Data Day Texas premiered a new Apache Cassandra™ track, featuring presentations on data modeling, use cases, and operations. The event attracted 1000 attendees, making it the largest Data Day yet. In addition to Cassandra talks, there were tracks on Apache Spark™, Graph, streaming technology, and AI. Highlights included Jeff Carpenter's deep dive into Cassandra architecture, Ben Bromhead's discussion of deploying Cassandra with Kubernetes, Jon Haddad's presentation on optimizing performance in a Cassandra cluster, Dikang Gu and Pengchao Wang's update on experimental work at Facebook, Aaron Ploetz's insights on performance data modeling, and Jonathan Ellis's talk on Apache Cassandra and the cloud. The community is looking forward to an even bigger Data Day event in San Francisco later this year.
